Licence for the manufacture of potable liquor
Licence is hereby granted, under and subject to the provisions of the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 (Bom. XXV of 1949) (herein after referred to as "the said Act"), the Maharashtra Distillation of Spirit and Manufacture of Potable Liquor Rules, 1966 and other rules, regulations and orders made under the Act to _____ (herein after referred to as "the licensee") on payment of a 1[licence fee (inclusive of consideration of one lakh fifty thousand rupees) (Rs. 1,50,000)]1 authorising him to manufacture and sell the marginally-noted varieties of potable liquor with the strength shown against each at his manufactory situated at _____ (herein after referred to as "the manufactory") during the period commencing on the _____ day of _____ 20_____ and ending on the 31st day of March 20_____, on the following conditions, namely:

1. Short title Extent शीर्षक आणि व्याप्ती
The licensee shall not manufacture and sell potable liquor except at the manufactory and under the supervision of a Prohibition and Excise Officer appointed to be incharge of the manufactory (herein after referred to as the "Manufactory Officer").
2. Definitions व्याख्या
The licensee shall provide suitable office accommodation, with sanitary arrangement, for the use of the Excise staff within the premises of the manufactory.

**(a) अधिनियम** — मुंबई दारूबंदी अधिनियम, १९४९ हा मुख्य कायदा आहे जो या नियमांना आधार देतो.
**(b) Chemical Analyser (रासायनिक विश्लेषक)** — हाफकिन इन्स्टिट्यूट (मुंबई) किंवा वसंतदादा शुगर इन्स्टिट्यूट (पुणे) मधील संचालक, किंवा राज्य शासनाने नियुक्त केलेला अधिकारी जो दारूचे रासायनिक परीक्षण करतो.
**(c) Compounding (संयुग करणे)** — मद्यार्कात रंग किंवा सुवास (किंवा दोन्ही) जोडून सेवनयोग्य मद्य बनवणे.
उदा., व्हिस्की किंवा रम तयार करणे.
**(d) Distillery Officer (आसवनी अधिकारी)** — दारूबंदी विभागाचा अधिकारी जो distillery मधील काम पहारेदारी करतो.
**(e) Excise supervision (शुल्क पर्यवेक्षण)** — राज्य शासनाच्या अधिकृत कर्मचाऱ्यांकडून आसवनी किंवा मद्यनिर्माणीच्या सर्व कामांवर नियंत्रण ठेवणे.
**(f) Fermentative base (किण्वन मुख्य घटक)** — मळी, म्हवराची फुले किंवा साखर असलेला पदार्थ ज्यापासून दारू बनवली जाते.
**(g) Form (नमुना)** — या नियमांच्या शेवटी दिलेले application form किंवा अन्य नमुने.
**(h) Licence (परवाना)** — या नियमांनुसार सरकारने दिलेली परवानगी दारू बनवू किंवा विक्रय करू शकण्याची.
**(i) Licensee (परवानाधारक)** — ज्या व्यक्तीकडे licence आहे.
**(j) Liquor room (मद्य कक्ष)** — मद्यनिर्माणीतील तो विशेष कक्ष जेथे सीलबंद बाटल्यांमध्ये तयार दारू साठवली जाते.
**(k) Manufactory (मद्यनिर्माणी)** — आसवनी परिसराचा तो विभाग जेथे सेवनयोग्य दारू बनवली जाते. त्यात मद्य कक्ष आणि दारू जारी करण्याचे सर्व स्थान समाविष्ट.
**(l) Manufactory Officer (मद्यनिर्माणी अधिकारी)** — मद्यनिर्माणीतील कामांवर देखरेख करणारा दारूबंदी अधिकारी.
**(m) Potable liquor (सेवनयोग्य मद्य)** — ब्रँडी, व्हिस्की, रम, जिन किंवा आसवन/संयुग प्रक्रियेद्वारे बनवलेली कोणतीही दारू.
**(n) Spirit (मद्यार्क)** — शुद्ध/रेक्टिफाईड मद्यार्क (परिष्कृत दारू) जिसे आणखी संयुग करून पीण्यायोग्य दारू बनवते.
**(o) To reduce (कमी करणे)** — शुद्ध पाणी जोडून मद्यार्काची ताकद कमी करणे विहित स्तरापर्यंत.
**(p) Spirit room (मद्यार्क कक्ष)** — मद्यनिर्माणीतील शुद्ध मद्यार्क साठवण्याचा विशेष कक्ष.
**(q) Wash (धुवण)** — किण्वन करणाऱ्या घटकाला पाणी मिळून तयार साखरयुक्त द्रावण जेथे किण्वन सुरू झालेले आहे (yeast मिळवल्यानंतर).
**(r) Washback (धुवण पात्र)** — धुवणाला किण्वनात ठेवण्याचे मोठे पात्र/टाकी.
**(s) Wort (वॉर्ट)** — किण्वन करणाऱ्या घटकाला पाणी मिळून तयार साखरयुक्त द्रावण, परंतु किण्वन अद्याप सुरू झालेले नाही.
3. Grant of distillery licence आसवनी साठी परवाना देणे
The licensee shall to the satisfaction of the Commissioner provide suitable quarters for the residential accommodation of the Prohibition and Excise staff employed under condition 1 in the close vicinity of the manufactory. If the licensee is not able to provide residential accommodation to the members of such staff, the Commissioner shall be entitled to take on hire or otherwise secure suitable accommodation for the said staff. The rent to be charged to a member of the staff shall be the economic rent or 10 per cent. of the basic pay of the member concerned, whichever is less. If the economic rent of the quarters is more than 10 per cent. of the basic pay of the member, the licensee shall pay the excess over 10 per cent., provided that in no case the licensee shall be liable to pay more than the difference between 10 per cent. and 35 per cent. of the basic pay of the member. If the economic rent is more than 35 per cent. of the basic pay of the member, then the member shall pay 10 per cent. and the licensee shall pay 35 per cent., and the member shall pay the excess over 35 per cent., if the licensee is not willing to pay it.
4. Renewal of licence परवाना नूतनीकरण
The licensee shall use the same materials and ingredients and shall adopt the same process of manufacturing potable liquor as are approved by the State Government.
