In those areas of the State to which it is extended by the Bombay Prohibition (Extension and Amendment) Act, 1959, it shall come into force on such other date as that Government may, by like notification appoint:

Provided that having regard to the nature of the outstill area of the Chanda District, the general backwardness of the people residing there in, and the necessity of preparing an adequate background before the introduction of prohibition there in, the State Government may, if it thinks fit, fix a different date for bringing the Act into force in that area.

Explanation.—In this sub-section the expression "outstill area of the Chanda District" means the areas of the Chanda District specified in Schedule I-A.

¹(4) On the commencement of this Act in the manner provided in sub-section (3) in any area to which this Act is extended by the Bombay Prohibition (Extension and Amendment) Act, 1959, all rules, regulations, orders and notifications made or issued or deemed to be made or issued under this Act and in force in the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay excluding the transferred territories immediately before such commencement, shall also extend to, and be in force in that area.]

"authorization" means an authorization granted under section 45 for the use of liquor for sacramental purposes;

"to bottle" with its various grammatical variations, means to transfer any article from a cask or other vessel to a bottle jar, flask, pot or similar receptacle for the purpose of sale, whether any process of manufacture be employed or not; bottling includes re-bottling;

³"Collector," includes an officer appointed by the State Government to exercise all or any of the powers and to perform all or any of the duties or functions of a Collector under this Act;]

⁴(5) "Commissioner" means an officer appointed as the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise under section 3 of this Act and includes any officer on whom the State Government may confer all or any of the powers of the Commissioner under this Act;]

"Common drinking house" means a place where the drinking of liquor or consumption of any intoxicating drug is allowed for the profit or gain of the person owning, occupying, using, keeping or having the care of management or control of such place whether by way of charge for the use of the place or for drinking facilities provided, or otherwise howsoever and includes the premises of a club or any other place which is habitually used for the purpose of drinking liquor or consuming any intoxicating drug by more than one person without a licence granted under this Act;

3. **Collector (जिल्हाधिकारी)** - राज्य शासनाने नेमलेला अधिकारी जो या कायद्याचे काम पाहतो.

4. **Commissioner (आयुक्त)** - दारूबंदी व उत्पादन शुल्क आयुक्त. त्याला दिलेली शक्ती सर्व आयुक्तांना असते.

5. **Common drinking house (दारूचा गुत्ता)** - दारू पीण्यासाठी बेकायदेशीर जागा जिथे पैसे घेऊन दारू पिता दिली जाते.

6. **Country liquor (देशी दारू)** - भारतात बनवलेली सर्व दारू.

7. **Denatured (विप्रकृत)** - ज्या दारूला मनुष्य पीऊ शकणार नाही असे केलेले. (उदा., पेंट बनवण्यासाठी)

8. **Foreign liquor (परदेशी दारू)** - भारताबाहेर बनवलेली दारू.

9. **Hemp (भांग)** - भांगेचे झाड जिथून मादक द्रव्य बनतात.

10. **Intoxicant (मादक द्रव्य)** - दारू, अफू, भांग, गांजा, चरस किंवा अन्य नशीले पदार्थ.

11. **Intoxicating drugs (मादक औषधिद्रव्य)** - भांगेच्या झाडाचे पाने, फुले, चरस (राळ), गांजा इत्यादी.

12. **Liquor (दारू)** - मद्यार्काचे बनलेले पेय (स्पिरिट, वाईन, बीअर, ताडी इत्यादी).

13. **Manufacturing (तयार करणे)** - दारू किंवा नशीले पदार्थ तयार करणे, शुद्ध करणे, स्वाद देणे.

14. **Molasses (मळी)** - गूळ किंवा साखर बनवताना निघणारा जाड काळसर द्रव्य. (हे दारू बनवण्यासाठी वापरतात)

15. **Opium (अफू)** - खसखशीच्या झाडाच्या बोंड्यापासून मिळणारा पदार्थ.

16. **Permit (परवाना)** - कायदेशीर परवानगी दारू ठेवण्या किंवा विक्रय करण्यासाठी.

17. **Prohibition officer (दारुबंदी अधिकारी)** - कोणताही अधिकारी किंवा कर्मचारी जो या कायद्याचा अंमल करतो.

18. **To sell (विकणे)** - दारू हस्तांतरित करणे (पैसे घेऊन किंवा न घेता), पुरविणे, किंवा वाटप करणे.

19. **Spirit (मद्यसार)** - गाळून तयार केलेली उच्च दारू (व्हिस्की, रम इत्यादी).

20. **Toddy (ताडी)** - ताड्याच्या झाडातून काढलेले रस जे आंबवले किंवा न आंबवले असू शकते.

21. **Vendor's licence (विक्रेत्याचे लायसन)** - दारू विकण्याची परवानगी.
