In pursuance of rule 5A of the Maharashtra Toddy Shops (Licensing) and Toddy Trees (Tapping) Rules, 1968, the Government of Maharashtra hereby gives notice that it proposes to direct that every licensed premises in Pandharpur Town of Sholapur District, in respect of which a licence has been granted for the retail sale of toddy shall remain closed for the sale of toddy on the occasions of the Ashadhi Ekadashi and Kartiki Ekadashi Festivals and on days immediately preceding and immediately following each such festival.

In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (b), (e), (f), (g), (h), (R), (l), (13) and (w) of sub-section (2) of section 143 of the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 (Bom. XXV of 1949), and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Government of Maharashtra hereby makes the following Rules, the same having been previously published as required by sub-section (3) of the said section 143.

Preliminary
1. Short title, extent and commencement शीर्षक,व्याप्ती आणि प्रारंभ
- These rules may be called the Maharashtra Toddy Shops (Licensing in Tribal Areas) and Toddy Trees (Tapping in Tribal Areas) Rules, 1981.
- These rules extend to the Tribal areas in the State of Maharashtra.
- These rules shall come into force on the 1st May 1981.
2. Definitions व्याख्या

Rule 2 हा नियमांमध्ये वापरलेल्या महत्वाच्या शब्दांचा अर्थ समजावून सांगतो. यामध्ये "अधिनियम", "ताडी", "परवानाधारक", "आदिवासी क्षेत्र" वगैरे शब्दांचे सोपे अर्थ दिले आहेत.

**विस्तृत समजावणी:**
**(a) Act (अधिनियम)** — मुंबई दारूबंदी अधिनियम, १९४९ असे सांगितले जाते. म्हणजे दारू संबंधी सर्व नियमांचा मूल कायदा हा.
**(b) Adivasi Co-operative Society (आदिवासी सहकारी संस्था)** — एक पंजीकृत संस्था जिथे सदस्यांची बहुसंख्या किंवा सर्व सदस्य आदिवासी असतात. ही संस्था दारूची दुकान चालवू शकते.
**(c) Duty (शुल्क)** — अधिनियमाच्या कलम 109 अन्वये सरकारकडे भरावा लागणारा शुल्क. उदा., ताडीवर सरकारचा कर.
**(d) Form (नमुना)** — अर्ज भरताना वापरावयाचा official template/फॉर्म जो या नियमांच्या अंतः जोडलेला असतो.
**(e) Licensed Shop (परवानाप्राप्त दुकान)** — ज्या दुकानात सरकारचा परवाना (licence) असतो आणि त्यातून कायदेशीरपणे ताडी विक्री केली जाते.
**(f) Licensee (परवानाधारक)** — ज्या व्यक्तीकडे दुकान चलवण्याचा परवाना असतो. उदा., दुकानदार.
**(g) Superintendent (अधीक्षक)** — जिल्ह्याचा दारूबंदी आणि उत्पादन शुल्क अधीक्षक. ही व्यक्ती सर्व परवाने देते आणि नियम पाळता येतात याचे निरीक्षण करते.
**(h) Toddy (ताडी)** — नारळ, खजूर किंवा ताड झाडातून काढलेल्या रसाचे आंबविलेले पदार्थ. यात 5% पर्यंत अल्कोहोल असू शकतो, पण गोड ताडी/नीरा यात समाविष्ट नाही.
**(i) Tribal Area (आदिवासी क्षेत्र)** — या नियमांच्या अंतः दिलेल्या अनुसूचीत नाव दिलेले क्षेत्र. केवळ या क्षेत्रांमध्येच ताडीचा नियम लागू होतो.
**(j) इतर शब्द** — जर कोणी शब्द इथे परिभाषित नाही असेल तर तर्तर मूळ अधिनियमातील अर्थ वापरावा.
