SUMMARY
This Government Resolution grants formal approval for the establishment of an independent training centre for the State Excise Department (Maharashtra State Excise) at Watodale, Patan, Satara district. The resolution addresses the critical need for comprehensive legal and physical training of Excise officers and staff to effectively combat illicit liquor operations and meet escalating revenue targets (₹25,200 crore in FY 2023-24 and ₹30,500 crore in FY 2024-25). The Department currently lacks its own training facility, forcing officers to seek training from external sources with delays.
