Nature of Document

This is not a gazette notification amending the Bombay Prohibition Act or any subordinate rules/regulations. It is an internal administrative/transfer circular issued by the Commissioner of State Excise to all concerned Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of State Excise, initiating the 2025 regular transfer process for Inspector (Group-B) cadre officers.

Summary of Contents

Purpose: To initiate the counselling-based transfer process for Inspectors (Group-B) due for regular transfer in 2025, as per the transfer policy established under:

• Government Resolution (GAD), No. SRV-2017/PR.Kr.415/Desk-12, dated 09.04.2018
• Home Department Transfer Policy No. EST 2021/PR.Kr.93/RAUSHU-1, dated 25.05.2021

Key Instructions to Deputy Commissioners / Superintendents:

• Collect preference-statement forms (Proforma-1, Appendix-1 of the GR dated 09.04.2018) from all eligible Inspectors and submit to Commissioner's office by 28 April 2025
• Verify accuracy of service details, difficult/non-difficult area classification, and priority preferences before forwarding
• Inspectors must include at least 2 choices from difficult/remote areas among their 10 preferences
• Inspectors eligible for transfer outside their district/division must not be permitted to give preferences only within the same district/division
• Supporting documents for priority claims (other than Priority No. 7) must be attached
• Details of crime investigation work done by transfer-eligible Inspectors to be compiled and submitted
• Any supervisory units (घटक) that are currently closed must be communicated to this office immediately; similarly, any reopened units must also be reported
• Vacancy details (transfers + retirements) as of 31 May 2025 are enclosed

This document does not constitute a legal amendment to the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 or any rules thereunder. It is a routine annual transfer-cycle administrative circular and falls outside the scope of gazette notifications amending excise law. No Format A or Format B summary applies.
