Amended Rule/Section: Bombay Foreign Liquor Rules, 1953 — Form FL-II, Condition No. 5
Type of Change: Insertion of new condition (Condition BA)
What Changed: The amendment inserts a new condition requiring licensees under FL-II (Foreign Liquor Shop) to display the name of their licence on a nameplate in Marathi language written in Devnagari script in the prescribed format ("_____ विदेशी मद्य विक्री दुकान" / "Foreign Liquor Shop"). The old rules contained no specific requirement for nameplate language or script. Under the new condition, Marathi script lettering is mandatory and must appear first on the nameplate, with font size no smaller than any other language used. Licensees may display the name in additional languages and scripts alongside Marathi, but no other items may be inscribed on the nameplate.
