What Changed: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under the chairmanship of Shri. Sandeep Diware, Police Deputy Inspector General, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Maharashtra, to conduct a thorough investigation into complaints regarding malpractice, irregularities, and corruption in the approval of liquor licenses in Chandrapur District. The SIT had been tasked with examining the scope of irregularities including questioning accused parties, verification of excise license documents from the Superintendent of State Excise, Chandrapur, and investigation into licenses issued on or after 08.06.2021. The SIT requested an extension of the reporting deadline citing the broad scope of the investigation and the need for additional time to complete the inquiry comprehensively.
