IMPORTANT NOTES / CONDITIONS / PENALTIES

Conditions Precedent to Promotion:

1. Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Approval: The promotions are conditional upon and remain subject to the approval and clearance of the MPSC.

2. Pending High Court Judgment: The promotions are granted subject to the final judgment in Writ Petition No. 8452/2004 pending in the Bombay High Court, Mumbai. If the court sets aside or modifies the promotion list, the order may be recalled.

3. Mandatory Acceptance: Officers must accept the promotion offer to become eligible for posting. Acceptance is not optional.

   Consequences of Non-Acceptance:

   • Officers who do not accept the promotion shall be:
     • Removed from the 2013-14 promotion list
     • Barred from any future claim to promotion from this promotion list
     • Removed from the promotion merit list permanently

     Immediate Implementation:

     • The Commissioner of State Excise (Ayukt, Raushu) shall:
       • Relieve the promoted officers from their current positions immediately upon acceptance
       • Obtain their acceptance in writing
       • Direct them to report to their new posts immediately
       • Provide relieving orders to each officer without delay

       Promotion Against Specific Vacancies:

       • Most posts are listed as "Vakt Padi" (Vacant Posts) created by normal attrition
