In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (I) of section 143 of the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 (Bom. XXV of 1949), and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Government of Maharashtra hereby makes the following Rules, the same having been previously published as required by sub-section (3) of the said section 143 :-

Short title शीर्षक

Short title – These Rules may be called the Bombay Prohibition (Mhowra Flowers) (Prescribed Limit in Weight) Rules, 1963.

शीर्षक – या नियमांना मुंबई दारूबंदी (महुआ फुले) (विहित वजन मर्यादा) नियम, १९६३ असे संबोधण्यात येईल.

Rule 2 Current

Limit for purposes of section 60 (2) कलम ६० (२.) च्या उद्देशांसाठी मर्यादा

Limit for purposes of section 60 (2) – The prescribed limit in weight for the purpose of sub-section (2) of section 60 of the Act shall be five kilograms :

¹ ²[Provided that, in respect of tribal residing in tribal areas of the State specified in column (2) of the Schedule hereto annexed and who distil or brew their own local traditional drinks from Mhowra flowers, specified in column (3) thereof, for the purpose of consumption, use of offering, or distribution of liquor for mutual accommodation for personal and social purposes but not for commercial purpose, no license, permit or pass shall be necessary for the collection purpose, transport, sale or possession of any quantity of Mhowra flowers.]
