What this form is for
Form IV is the Fermentation and distillation Register, a distillery record that tracks each batch from the materials used to prepare wash, through fermentation and distillation, to the spirit turned out and its removal to warehouse or redistillation. It is maintained by the licensee operating a distillery, who must make entries for every batch of wash set up and sent to the still. The register is prescribed under rule 7 (2) of the Maharashtra Distillation of Spirit and Manufacture of Potable Liquor Rules, 1966, and its format is reproduced in the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 compilation.
