Form C.L. XXIII is the monthly return of stock and transactions at a country liquor retail sale shop, recording the opening balance, receipts from the warehouse licensee, sales to permit-holders, any wastage, and the closing balance, in bottles of various sizes and in loose bulk litres. It is filed by the licensee of the retail shop, or the licensee's authorised agent, by the 5th of every month for the preceding month. The return is submitted to the Inspector of Prohibition and Excise and the Superintendent of Prohibition and Excise of the district. It is prescribed under rule 42 of the Maharashtra Country Liquor Rules, 1973.
