Form of Advice of samples sent for estimating the alcoholic strength and certifying that the preparation is a “ bona fide medicinal preparation ” (and not a beverage).
This form is an advice-and-certificate in which samples of medicinal preparations are sent to the Chemical Analyser, who estimates their alcoholic strength and certifies whether each is a bona fide medicinal preparation and not a beverage. It is issued by the Supervising Officer, who despatches the samples, and completed by the Chemical Analyser, who records the strength found and the certification. It is used where the Commissioner is asked to remit excise duty on rectified spirit required by Hakeems or Vaidyas. It appears as an Appendix to the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949, under the ruleset authorising that remission.
